Dawson Springs, Ky.–Little Oaklynn Koon’s mother delivered the horrible news today that their two-month-old baby had passed away from the injuries she suffered in Friday night’s tornado in Dawson Springs, Ky.

Hundreds of people had followed the experiences of Doug and Jackie Koon in the aftermath of the tornado that ripped through Dawson Springs and western Kentucky on Facebook.

In the family’s first Facebook post on Saturday, Jackie said she, her husband and three children took shelter in a bathroom at her mother’s home.

Jackie said, “Oh Lord please be with us. My moms house is gone. We was in the bathroom and we all went flying and ended up way on the other end of our neighbors house. My poor babies. Nothing is more scarier than knowing a tornado is heading your way and hearing your kids freaked out and thinking we are going to die.” Oaklynn was strapped in her baby car seat and was found out in the open, still in her seat.

Little Oaklynn was first airlifted to Deaconess Hospital for treatment of her injuries and after he r condition worsened, she was transported again to a hospital in Louisville, where she passed away today. Other members of the family have been hospitalized with injuries from the tornado.

“God, this doesn’t seem real,” little Oaklynn’s father posted after she passed away.
