Obion County, Tenn.–Obion County Emergency Management Agency Director Danny Jowers has confirmed one fatality from last night’s tornado and said the town of Samburg “is devastated. They took a direct hit”.
Jowers also said there have been two fatalities in Lake County near the Cypress Point Resort.
Many residences in Samburg are destroyed, he said. Samburg is also without power and water. “Samburg City Hall also has significant damage,” he said.
“We’re trying to get to the other resorts to check on them but the roads are impassable with trees down.
The town of Kenton also has severe damage in its south portion “with homes destroyed and trees down.”
“As bad as it is here,” he said, “I can’t imagine what Mayfield is going through”.
