The Henry County Patriots advanced to thee semi-finals of TSSAA playoff season defeating Springfield 23-0 Friday night on the road in Springfield.
Henry County had 268 yards of offense and scored in both the second and third quarters and held Springfield scoreless for 4 quarters. Cole Townsend scored first on a 25 yard run at 11:51 in the second quarter. Gavin Lindsey’s pat was good for a 7-0 lead. Aiden Frye kicked a 35 yard field goal to lead 10 to 0. Townsend scored another touchdown with 8:56 to go in the third. Lindsey’s pat was good as well to lead 17-0.
Morgan Barrick scored the final touchdown from 6 yards out at 8:09 and Lindsey would complete the pat for the final points of the night and a final score of 23-0. Henry County would have 268 total yards on the night while Springfield would pick up only 95.
The Patriots will be on the road next week traveling to Page High School in Franklin after Thanksgiving.
