Town Of Kenton Receives $100,000 Parks & Rec Grant

Kenton, Tenn.–The town of Kenton has received a state Parks and Recreation grant for $100,000 for development of a new Little League ball field and to renovate an existing one. A ‘big check’ was presented to Mayor Danny Jowers and other town officials and State Rep. Curtis Halford on Tuesday by Anne Marshall, Director of the Recreation Resources Division of the State Parks and Conservation office.

Grants presentations also were made to the city of Milan, for $500,000 for renovation of two ballfields; and to Halls in the amount of $280,000 for energy-efficient lighting.

The grants are part of $7,584,530 awarded to communities throughout the state from the Local Parks and Recreation Fund (LPRF) program and the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) program, as well as $1,892,642 in grants from the Recreation Trails Program (RTP).
