Camden, Tenn.–The Benton County Sheriff’s Office is planning a new event, “Pick Your Own Pumpkin” for children and their parents Saturday, October 23.
Sheriff Kenny Christopher said the event will be held at the Inmate Garden on Benton Industrial Road from 1-6 p.m. The event is free and he said he anticipates a fun afternoon for both children and parents.
Christopher said the Inmate Garden was very productive this year and they wanted to share their bounty with others. A hayride will take everyone from the parking area to the pumpkin patch and there will be materials on hand for the children to decorate their pumpkins.
Inmates and Sheriff’s personnel were busy Wednesday afternoon at the garden, preparing it for the event. The Inmate Garden is located near the Second Harvest Food Bank Warehouse.
