Dyersburg Domestic Assault Results in Injuries

Yesterday afternoon Dyersburg police responded to the area of Phillips Street in reference to a domestic assault with injuries. Officers arrived to discover the female victim bleeding profusely with substantial facial injuries. Officers observed the suspect, Bobby Ashley, 20, Dyersburg, fleeing the scene on foot. Additional officers arrived and Ashley was taken into custody in the area a few minutes later without incident.
The victim reported to law enforcement that she and Ashley had been in a relationship, and she was retrieving some of her property from the home after they broke up. The victim reported that she was not expecting Ashley to show up at the home. The victim said Ashley took her phone smashing it on the ground, then started to beat her in her face with his fist. The victim was knocked to the ground where Ashley continued to strike her in the face.
DPD also discovered that Ashley was under three active no-contact orders through Dyersburg City Court, in which the victim was the protected party. Two of the orders were no-contact, and the third was a no violent contact order. The victim was hospitalized for her injuries that included broken facial bones and a broken nose.
Ashley was charged with aggravated assault, violation of an order of protection, and vandalism over $1,000.00. He was jailed pending Dyersburg City Court action today at 4:00 p.m.
