Friday, members of the Dyersburg Police Department along with Rachel Craig and Sierra Alexander helped connect Dyersburg to Union City with the annual Special Olympics Run, also known as the Joe Casey Torch Run. Nashville Metro Retired Police Chief Joe Casey, who is also one of the founding members of the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police, has been a long-time supporter of Special Olympics and instrumental in bringing the Law Enforcement Torch Run into a global movement.
Tennessee Law Enforcement assisted with volunteers helping connect Tennessee communities from West Tennessee to East Tennessee. These efforts were part of a much larger campaign to join States from the West Coast to the East Coast raising money for Special Olympics.
We were honored to be a part of this run supporting Special Olympics in the amazing work that they do for so many.
