Paris, Tenn.–Two men are in the Henry County Jail after an incident Monday in which meth, marijuana and over $5,000 in drug proceeds were seized.
According to a press release issued by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, on May 03,2021, Sgt. Gary Carroll made a traffic stop on Crutchfield in in Paris.
While attempting to make the traffic Stop, a person later identified as Gary “Bobo” Baker fled out of the passenger side of the vehicle and ran in between a trailer and a shed. Baker was located after a short foot pursuit by Deputy William Whitaker in the woods in the direction he had fled.
After taking Baker into custody, a search of the area revealed a black and blue Nike bag. Inside the Nike bag was approximately 719.49 grams of a crystal like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, 7 plastic bags which is commonly used for resale, two digital scales with residue, two $1 dollar bills with residue and a $20 bill with residue, according to the press release.
During a search of Baker’s person, approximately 2.57 grams of a green leafy substance marijuana was found in his shorts pocket. Also located on his person was 2.36 grams of a crystal like substance which also field tested positive for methamphetamine.
During this investigation $5,710.00 was also found on Baker’s person. This money in being seized due to the money being in Denomination that is consistent with drug proceeds, according to the press release,
In the same incident Nathaniel N Caddell was charged with felony evading (Vehicle), false reports for making false statements to law enforcement during the investigation and speeding.
The Total Weight of the Crystal like substance (Meth) was Approximately 732.2 grams which is equivalent to 1.61 pounds. This total weight has a street buy value of $58,576.00.
Nathaniel N Caddell is being held in the Henry County Jail on a total of $40,000.00 Bond
Baker is being held in the Henry County Jail on a total of $150,000.00 Bond
Both subjects are Scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court Tuesday May 04,2021
