Paris, Tenn.–Paris Fisherman Neil Matlock had his biggest day ever hauling Asian Carp out of our waterways Friday when he removed 24,626 pounds of the invasive carp out of the Big Sandy River.

Matlock said he was located just a few hundred yards from a boat ramp in the Big Sandy for the haul.

Special thanks to his brother James, Correy Stroope and Ernesto Lopez for “helping me get them in” the boats, Matlock said.

He also thanked the buyers at North American Caviar in Paris, Clay Young, Christel Linsman Young and Kenneth Linsman.

North American Caviar is a licensed wholesale fish and caviar dealer and Asian Carp processing and packaging plant in Paris. The company opened in 2019 and its commercial fishermen have removed over a million pounds from Kentucky and Barkley Lakes.
