Five Hour TVA Outage Planned Sunday Night For Gibson Electric Customers

gibson-elec-pix

TVA, Gibson Electric Membership Corporation’s wholesale power provider, has informed Gibson EMC that it will have an outage on Sunday night, January 10, that will affect about 2,760 of the consumer-members served out of the Clinton, Kentucky substation.

This is the second TVA outage for Gibson customers in the last few days.

TVA says the outage will begin at 11 PM and will last about 5 hours.  It is needed to make additional repairs to the TVA substation transformer damaged Thursday night and will affect the same members who experienced an outage Thursday night.  TVA is doing this work now because waiting would put these members at risk of a longer unplanned outage.

Gibson Electric officials said, “We are attempting to telephone and text our members who will be affected.  If you don’t receive a call or text, but do experience the outage, please call and give us your current phone number so we can communicate in the future.”
