Refuge To Offer Christmas Craft Kits For Kids

refuge-treats

Springville, Tenn.–This year the Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge will not be holding its annual “Trim a Tree for Wildlife” event this year due to the recent spike in covid cases. However, the Friends of Tennessee NWR are offering free craft kits that will hold all the parts and instructions for four different children’s Christmas crafts.

These craft kits will be available to pick up in front of the refuge Visitor Center located at 1371 Wildlife Drive in Springville, TN beginning Monday November 23rd until supplies last. Along with the four craft kits, the packages include some good tips on how to care for wildlife during the winter months.

So, drive by anytime during the day and pick up your craft kit from the tub sitting in front of the visitor center.  While here, how about sitting for a quiet moment on the back patio to listen and look for waterfowl.  We also invite you to visit adjacent V.L. Childs observation deck for another way to see the wildlife that abounds here.

For more information, call the refuge at 731-642-2091 or see our website at www.fws.gov/refuge/Tennessee or on facebook at www.facebook.com/tennesseenwr.
