Big Sandy Couple Seriously Injured In Crash; THP Issues Report

Paris, Tenn.—The Tennessee Highway Patrol has released a report on a three-vehicle accident which seriously injured a Big Sandy couple. The accident occurred on Hwy. 69A on the morning of Thursday, October 1.

Both Robert French, age 86, and his wife, Reba French, age 84, were airlifted following the accident and remain hospitalized. Both were wearing seatbelts.

According to the report, a 2003 Jeep Liberty driven by Angela Kissell, age 41, of Big Sandy, was southbound on Hwy. 69A. A 2017 GMC Sierra driven by Edward Guenther, age 28, of Big Sandy, was northbound on Hwy. 69A, pulling a utility trailer.

The French couple, with Robert French driving a 2017 Lincoln, was also northbound, behind Guenther.

According to the report, Kissell crossed the center line, struck the utility trailer and then struck the French couple head-on. Kissell also was injured, but the report does not indicate the extent of her injuries. Both Kissell and Guenther were wearing seatbelts.
