Camden, Tenn.–Due to confirmed cases of COVID-19, both the Benton County Register of Deeds’ office and the County Trustees’ Offices will be closed through Thursday, August 13th.

Register Sonya Volz said in a Facebook announcement she will be recording documents during normal business hours from home and that the public can contact her through the Register of Deeds’ Facebook page. She said there was a confirmed case in her office.

“If you have documents to be recorded, there is a drop off in front of my office with instructions. Thank you for your patience and understanding,” she said.

County Trustee Sherry Beasley posted a notice on Facebook saying there is more than one positive case in her office. “Due to confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Trustee’s Office, we will be closed to the public until August 13.” She said she will be checking for Facebook messages throughout the day and checking the office for messages each evening.

The Benton County Courthouse is set to reopen Monday after closing July 31 to allow disinfecting of the entire building after COVID-19 cases were reported.

The courthouse reportedly will be on a restrictive schedule for the time being.
