houston-co-boe

Erin, Tenn.–The Houston County Schools will delay the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year until August 10.

School officials said in a statement, “The safety and health of students, employees, and the entire community is a serious concern of Houston County Schools. Because of this, our school system will delay the start of school for the 2020-2021 school year. The planned start date is August 10th with staggered student schedules the first 12 days with safety modifications and precautions put in place.”

School personnel will be contacting parents with more specific information such as student schedules and orientations.

Parents will also have the option to enroll their child in the Houston County Schools Virtual Learning Platform. This is an online option at no cost to families. More information about the virtual learning platform will be posted on our district website houston.k12.tn.us or call the Houston Co. Board of Education after July 20th.
