Dover, Tenn.–Following guidance from the CDC and recommendations from state and local public health authorities in consultation with NPS Public Health Service Officers, Fort Donelson National Battlefield visitor facilities and services, exhibits, and access to the historic Dover Hotel and the Carriage House remain temporarily closed.

As of March 25, restroom facilities located on the main Fort Donelson Unit, and at the Fort Donelson National Cemetery, are temporarily closed until further notice.

The outdoor areas of the battlefield and national cemetery, including park tour roads, trails, earthworks, artillery, and battle positions remain accessible during their normal hours.

A brochure box, containing the national park tour map and other material can be found mounted to the stone columned education pavilion. Other information can be found at other key battlefield areas.

Updates will be posted to the Fort Donelson web site (www.nps.gov/fodo) and Facebook.

As services are limited, in addition to practicing social distancing and other important practices recommended by the CDC and other public health authorities, the National Park Service urges visitors to continue to practice “Leave No Trace” principles, including “pack-in and pack-out,” to keep outdoor spaces safe and healthy.
