Union City, Tenn.–The next round of the high school basketball postseason is set.
Play begins Thursday in the Region 7A Tournament with girls’ quarterfinal games at satellite sites. First round regional boys’ contests will be played on Friday night – also at satellite sites.
The tourney will then move to Gibson County High School for the semifinals and championships in both girls’ and boys’ play.
Union City will host first round regional games on Thursday and Friday, respectively, each beginning at 7 p.m. at Marty Sisco Gymnasium.
The Lady Tornadoes (20-11) will host Trenton (14-14) on Thursday, while the UC boys (20-10) will entertain Middleton (10-14) Friday.
Both games will be the first meetings between the schools this season.
The girls’ semis are set for Saturday at 6 and 7:30 p.m., while the boys’ Final 4 will be played Monday at the same times.
Championship games will be played Tuesday (girls) and Thursday, March 5 (boys) at 7 p.m.
The top two finishers will move on to sectional play, the region winner hosting and the runner-up playing on the road.
