TBI Arrests Dyer County Man On Drug, Gun Charges

Newbern, Tenn.–An investigation by Special Agents with the Drug Investigation Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the arrest of a Dyer County man on weapon and drug charges.

 

Thursday, as part of an ongoing drug investigation, TBI Agents along with Agents from the 27th Judicial District Drug Task Force, Agents from the 29th Judicial District Drug Task Force, and Deputies with the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a home of a suspected drug dealer in the 600 block of North Monroe Street in Newbern.  During the search, weapons, ammunition, marijuana, cocaine, suspected fentanyl, and crack cocaine were discovered.

 

Following the execution of the search warrant, TBI Agents arrested Charles Powell (DOB: 7/03/85) on counts of Possession with Intent – Schedule II, Possession with Intent – Schedule IV, Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Dangerous Felony, and Felon in Possession of a Weapon.  He was booked into the Dyer County Jail.  Bond will be set during his first court appearance.
