MCKENZIE, Tenn. –Bethel University Head Football Coach Michael Jasper announced Wednesday Assistant Coach Morgan Cruce has been named the new Wildcat Offensive Coordinator. Cruce will also coach the Wildcat quarterbacks. Cruce has deep roots in west Tennessee, having played football for Obion County Central High School and served as head coach for Gibson County High School in Dyer.

Cruce just completed second year at Bethel coaching Tight Ends/H-Backs.  He previously coached Running Backs.

Prior to Bethel Cruce spent two seasons as the Head Coach / Director of Football Operations at Baptist Preparatory School in Little Rock, Arkansas. Prior to his arrival at Baptist Preparatory School, he served as Head Coach at Gibson County High School in Dyer, TN.

Before taking his first head coaching opportunity at Gibson County, Cruce started his coaching career as Running Backs Coach and eventually Defensive Coordinator at perennial powerhouse Union City High School in TN.

Morgan holds roots in West Tennessee playing high school football at Obion County Central High School. Cruce was known for having the “Heart of a Champion” due to his unwavering commitment to excellence and “never give up” attitude. While undersized for his position, it was this character that allowed Morgan to continue his playing career when he was awarded a scholarship to play football at Lambuth University in Jackson, TN.  Cruce played for four years under legendary Coach Vic Wallace at Lambuth.

Cruce stated, “God is great and I am very honored that Coach Jasper is giving me the opportunity to lead the offense. I am blessed to be able to work with such great guys, and I am blessed to have been able to learn from some of the best offensive minds that I know. My family and I are so excited to continue to establish Bethel Football as a prominent football program.”
