Skull Found In Gibson Co. Identified As Missing Milan Woman

Milan, Tenn.–Gibson County Sheriff Paul Thomas has confirmed that the skull found in woods over the weekend is that of a young woman who has been missing since January.
The skull has been identified as the remains of 22-year-old Sarah Michelle Phillips, who was reportedly last seen January 9 of this year leaving her father’s home in Milan.
Sheriff Thomas said the Medical Examiner’s office in Memphis used dental records to identify the skull. He said confirmation arrived Tuesday afternoon from the Medical Examiner.
The sheriff’s office is working with other agencies, including the TBI, Milan Police, and Trenton Police on the investigation surrounding her death.
The skull was found by a dog in a wooded area near the Gibson/Carroll County line.
