Fugitive From Florida Arrested In Mayfield

 
Mayfield, Ky.-A fugitive from the Palm Beach Florida area was located and arrested this afternoon.

The suspect was being sought in connection with a 1999 cold case that was recently solved by DNA results. He had outstanding arrest warrants for Sexual Battery with Force, Burglary with Assault, and Aggravated Assault.
The suspect is Noel Medina Morales, age 34, of Puerto Rico.
The suspect had originally fled to Puerto Rico after being sought for the rape and other crimes, and was convicted on an unrelated sex crime in Puerto Rico since the 1999 case.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit received information along with the United States Marshals that the suspect may possibly be living in the Mayfield area.
This afternoon, Graves Sheriffs detectives, McCracken Sheriff’s detectives, along with the U.S. Marshals set up surveillance on an apartment located Windhaven Court.
After a period of time, this suspect was observed, as he was getting into a vehicle attempting to leave.
Detectives and Agents took the man into custody without any further incident.
The Graves County Sheriffs Office obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect charging him with being a fugitive from justice. He was later lodged at the Graves County Jail awaiting extradition back to the state of Florida.
