2 Arrested In Early Morning Union City Incident

Union City, Tenn.—Two men were arrested early this morning in Union City on assault charges after an argument turned physical while they were in a moving vehicle.
Union City Police found a car that had run off the road at Reelfoot Ave. and Stad Ave at 1:25 a.m.
Gabriel Starks, age 24, of Caruthersville, Mo., was charged with assault and Devin Alexander, age 26, of E. Main St., Union City, was charged with aggravated assault.
The men involved said they had gotten into an argument in Walmart and that the argument continued inside the vehicle as they were leaving.
According to the report, Starks poked or punched Alexander in the eye and Alexander let go of the steering wheel and pulled a knife on Starks. Starks then grabbed the knife, causing the handle to break off the knife.
Alexander refused medical treatment before both were transported to jail.
