"Always Room For More" At Henry County Schools' Summer Feeding Program

By Shannon McFarlin News Director
Paris, Tenn.- The Henry County School System’s summer feeding program is flourishing, but program managers said they always have room for more.

County Schools Food Service Supervisor Karen Wilson told WENK/WTPR that the program is serving meals to 550 a day for lunch and from 250-270 for lunch. “We’re doing really well, but we always have room for more,” she said.

The Henry County School System provides free meals to children during the summer and children can begin coming at any time during the summer.

Currently, meals are served at six different sites in the county. One site has been added to the list since the program began earlier this summer.

There are no income requirements or registration.  Anyone 18 or younger may come to eat.  For more information please contact Karen Wilson at the Henry County Board of Education 731.642.7956 or Arleen Mendes at Henry County High School at 642.5232, extension 2365.
