Sharon, Tenn.—A Sharon man was arrested on a charge of rape of a child and released from the Weakley County Jail the same day.
Gerald Belt, age 40, was arrested Friday on the charges involving a girl under 10 years old after a forensic investigation into the case by the Department of Children’s Services.
He was released on $2,500 bond and ordered to have no contact with the victim during his initial appearance in General Sessions Court. He is set to appear again Wednesday morning.
