Juvenile Charged With Theft Of Firearms, Intimidation

Wingo, Ky.—A juvenile is in custody, charged with a residential burglary that involved the theft of firearms. The 16-year-old is now charged with burglary, theft and intimidating a participant in a legal process.
A Wingo resident notified the Graves County Sheriff’s Office that someone had entered their home in the early Sunday morning hours and stole a 9mm handgun and a Rugar AR 15 rifle.
According to the press release from the sheriff’s office, neighbors informed deputies they had seen a white dirt bike in the area of the residence being ridden by a white male around the time of the burglary.
An investigation by Detective Brooke Nelms led to the execution of a search warrant in the Pilot Oak area of Graves County Monday afternoon.

Detective Nelms, Detective Steve Halsell, and Sheriff Jon Hayden served the search warrant around 1:30pm and the stolen pistol was recovered from the residence and the white dirt bike also was found there.
During further investigation it was revealed that the burglary was actually carried out by a 16 year old male juvenile. He was located at another location and charged with first-degree burglary, theft of firearms (two counts) and Intimidating a Participant in a Legal Process.

The AR15 rifle that was stolen has yet to be found and recovered. Two additional residences were searched in the Dukedom area just across the Tennessee state line with assistance of deputies with the Weakly County Tennessee Sheriff’s Department.
