30,000 Easter Eggs Await The Kiddos At Discovery Park

Union City, Tenn.–Discovery Park of America and Crosswind Church have teamed up to bring this area the largest Easter Egg Hunt imaginable.
According to Discovery Park Event Director Lauren Jones, the crowd last year was larger than expected, so several new tactics are in place for this year.  “We have doubled the size of the hunt area and tripled the number of eggs this year,” Jones said.
The Easter Egg Hunt will begin at 1:30 with a special hunt for children with special needs.  The 1:30 special hunt will be in The Settlement, where the music won’t be as loud, the crowd won’t be as big and parents will be allowed to assist.  Then, at 2 p.m. the Great Lawn will come alive with four different hunts.  Children ages two and under will begin hunting at 2 p.m., ages three and four will begin at 2:15 p.m., ages five through seven will start at 2:30 p.m. and ages eight through 12 will begin at 2:45.
“We are encouraging people to get to the park early this year,” Jones said.  “We’ll have a special stage set up and entertainment including “Go Noodle dancing,” bounce houses, the Easter Bunny for photos and a special Crosswind Church ‘tattoo tent.”
According to park officials, there will be over 30,000 candy filled eggs free for the taking.  “We are ready to make sure the children have a fantastic time this Saturday,” Jones explained.  “Our partner, Crosswind Church, is providing around 40 volunteers.  We have extra help at the ticket counter, extra help parking cars and it’s all-hands-on deck for the hunts,” she added.
The park opens at 10 a.m. Saturday, with guests encouraged to arrive early and bring their own Easter Basket for the egg hunt.  The hunt is free with park admission.
