She said retail sales tax revenue has slightly dipped behind last year’s fiscal year to date totals. They are behind less than 1%. The month of January showed a decrease of 3.54% compared to last January.
February was the last month to pay 2018 property taxes without penalty or interest. As expected, we received an influx of cash for property tax payments. In fact, we received approximately 39% of the billing during the month of February. The overall total collected was 92% of the billing, which is slightly above average.
This revenue has put the city well ahead of expenditures in the General Fund for our fiscal year-to-date. Delinquent tax notices will be mailed in April.
