Dover, Tenn.–Fort Donelson National Battlefield activities related to National Junior Ranger Day, Saturday, April 14, have been cancelled, due to forecasts calling for a significant chance of strong to severe storms passing through the immediate area during the scheduled activities.
Due to the isolated and heavily wooded location of the battlefield’s Fort Heiman Unit, located in rural southeast Calloway County, Kentucky, and the lack of suitable shelter in case of any severe weather, the event is cancelled, with a rescheduled date for the activities to be announced.
