Paris, Tenn.–It was announced Thursday night’s Henry Co. Schools board meeting that Henry County High School Junior Natalie Clark has qualified for the third consecutive year for the National Speech and Debate Association National Tournament.

Advisor Linda Miller noted that only one other local high school student has ever qualified three years in a row and that was Cherry Jones, who went on to win Tony and Emmy Awards for Best Actress on Broadway and television.

“So, Natalie is in good company”, she said.

Miller received approval for a field trip to Fort Lauderdale for the National Tournament.

Clark noted that she will be required to speak for 10 minutes at the tournament and that her topic is “Ice”.
