Dresden, Tenn.—A Dresden sixth grader was accidentally shot and killed Sunday afternoon when he was at a friend’s house on Evergreen Street.
According to Dresden Police Chief Steve Howe, the boy is Jerron McAlister. He is the son of Jessica Barker and attended Dresden Middle School.
Jerron McAlister and a friend were in the living room when a pistol went off, killing the boy. The name of the other youngster has not been released.
The Dresden Police is continuing the investigation. The boy’s body was sent to Nashville for autopsy.
Counselors will be on hand at Dresden Middle School today.
