Fugitive Caught Following Home Invasion

Symsonia, Ky.  Kentucky State Police have arrested Doug A. Becker, who had been wanted for a violent home invasion that occurred Friday in Graves County.

At approximately 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Marshall County Dispatch received a call from a citizen reporting a male matching the description on Phelps Road, near Symsonia Highway in Marshall County.

KSP Troopers responded to the area and located Becker.  He was taken into custody without incident.  Troopers have transported Mr. Becker to a local hospital for medical clearance, due to his prolonged (overnight) exposure to cold temperatures.

Once medically cleared for incarceration, he will be lodged in the Graves County Jail. His charges, from the arrest warrant issued last night, will be First Degree Burglary, First Degree Unlawful Imprisonment, Attempted Murder, two counts of Fourth Degree Assault, and three counts of First Degree Wanton Endangerment.

The investigation is continuing by Detective Eric Fields. Becker was considered armed and dangerous after he fled on foot from a home invasion near Symsonia.

Preliminary investigation has showed that Douglas A. Becker, age 31, of Taylor, Texas, unlawfully entered a residence on Bell Road.  Once inside the residence, he assaulted two people, held one against her will, and fired at least one shot from a firearm he had brought with him.  No one at the residence required medical attention.  One of the people from inside the residence called 911 and Becker fled on foot.
