Wingo, Ky.—Two Obion County men were arrested on drug and gun charges in the parking lot of the Wingo Dollar General Store late last week.
At approximately 3 a.m. Thursday,, a Graves County Deputy Sheriff on patrol in the Wingo community stopped to check on a vehicle parked in the parking lot at the Wingo Dollar General.
While speaking with the occupants in the vehicle, the deputy observed several illegal items in the car. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the deputy locating marijuana, drug paraphernalia, open alcoholic beverage containers, a handgun and several methamphetamine precursors. The following individuals were charged with the following offenses.
Jere G. Harrison, 23 of Kenton, was charged with DUI 1st offense, operating on a suspended operator’s license and unlawful possession of a methamphetamine precursor 1st offense. He was lodged in the Graves County Jail.
A passenger in the vehicle, Brandon Yeager, 20 of Union City, was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was then released.
Further charges are pending as Harrison told the deputy that the handgun that was recovered was probably stolen. As of now whether the handgun is stolen and where it was stolen from have not been determined.
