Our deepest condolences go out to the Melton and Gulish families. Sonny Melton of Paris was among 50 people killed in the horrific shooting incident in Las Vegas last night. Sonny was with his wife, Dr. Heather Gulish Melton at the Route 91 Harvest Festival. Heather posted on Facebook that she lost her “true love and knight in shining armor” and asked for time.
Thousands were in attendance at the outdoor concerts at the Festival when a rapid-fire barrage of gunfire hit the crowd. At least 50 are reported dead, with 400-plus wounded, many in critical condition. It is the deadliest mass shooting in United States history.
Melton was a registered nurse at Henry County Medical Center and is from Big Sandy.
