Truck Total Loss After Fire On Highway

Paris, Tenn.–A truck was destroyed by fire Thursday afternoon on Hwy. 54 near Como.

The Paris Fire Department was called to the intersection of Hwy. 54 and Alexander Road at 3:30 p.m. on a report of a vehicle fire. Arriving units found it fully involved in fire.

After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters stayed on the scene until the wrecker arrived and the road was cleared.

Owned by Casey Watkins of Cottage Grove, the 2005 four-door pickup truck was a total loss. The driver was able to detach the flatbed trailer and equipment on the trailer.

The Paris department was called for mutual aid by the Como/Ore Springs Fire Department whose units were unavailable.

Cause of the fire was undetermined.
