At this time, we have been informed that the Samburg community has been overwhelmed with physical donations, so we will be focusing primarily on funding / volunteer opportunities + resources for those effected.

Resources for Obion County School Students: Showers available for students to use during the day for those who may not have running water or electricity.  Washers and dryers are available to launder clothes.  If we do not have the resources you need, we will find them or put you in contact with someone who can help.

Laundry: Troy Laundry will be offering free washing and drying Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday December 12-15th from 4-6 pm each day to help the local areas affected by the recent tornadoes. They ask that you please be courteous and bring only what you need to wash for the time being to allow everyone a chance to wash. If anyone wants to donate laundry detergent to use, please bring it by. Troy Laundry 218 Harper St, Troy Tn.

 

DRESDEN

Volunteers:
The city is directing volunteers desiring to work on debris removal and recovery efforts first check in at a Disaster Relief Station located at the Family Life Center of Dresden First Baptist Church on Morrow Street to be assigned to a team that will be working in assigned areas of the city. The recovery effort has been tremendous thus far and they welcome volunteers to continue to be part of this unified effort to build back Dresden Strong.

Warming Station:
A warming station that is open 24 hours a day currently open at the Adult Learning Center on Highway 22.

Dresden Debris Pickup:
Place tree and building debris at the edge of streets. We are further asking that building material be separated from tree debris as the two types of debris will be picked up separately. The city is also obtaining a number of dumpsters for citizens to place building or construction debris along with household waste such as refrigerator and freezer contents, which will be disposed of in a landfill. When delivered, two of those dumpsters will be located on the parking lot behind city hall two will be located at the Dresden Farmers Market, and one in the vicinity of Jerry’s 66 on Pikeview St.
HENRY COUNTY

Donations: Collected by The Shed and Henry County Sheriff’s Office are monetary or gift cards. These will then be distributed by The Shed to those individuals in need. Donations my be dropped off in dispatch at the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

WEAKLEY COUNTY
The Weakley County government website is being continuously updated with verified FREE resources.
Anyone impacted by the tornado should register at the Recovery Center where Red Cross representatives are present and taking applications for appropriate assistance and giving community resource referrals.
