The Mike Holden Jazz Orchestra will present its Spring Concert Saturday night April 16th at the Krider Performing Arts Center, 650 Volunteer Drive in Paris.
The concert begins at 7 pm and is free and open to the public.
The Jazz Orchestra was founded by the director, Mike Holden in January of 2020. It is part of the Paris Henry County Chamber Music Society also founded by Holden.
The PHCCMS is a nonprofit organization built to promote music, the love of music and music education in our area.
The band features many talented musicians from Henry County as well as Benton, Weakley and Carroll Counties in Tennessee and Calloway County, KY. These are adults with years of experience. Many have extensive music educations, and several are music teachers.
Music from the “Big Band Era” of the 1940’s will be featured as well as newer tunes.
Holden said, “We hope all who enjoy music will attend!” “We are playing some fun tunes that all will enjoy. Parents, if you have a child who is involved with music, especially band, I ask that you encourage them to come. Musicianship of this caliber isn’t often on display. I encourage the local music teachers; band, choir and strings to send their students.”
Although the concert is free , donations to the PHCCMS will be accepted.
