Community Concert Band Christmas Concert

Paris, Tenn.–The Paris-Henry County  Community Concert Band is presenting its 5th Annual Christmas concert on Sunday December 11 at 3 pm at the Krider Performing Arts Center. The concert is sponsored by the Paris-Henry County Chamber Music Society.
The Band is under the direction of the founder, R. Michael Holden and is free and open to all.
The concert will present a wide variety of Christmas music. Several ensembles will also perform including The Paris Brass, The Paris Flutes, The Paris Saxes and The Paris Trumpet Choir.
The band was started in November 2017 by Holden under the umbrella of the Paris Henry County Chamber Music Society. The Society is a nonprofit organization built to promote Music, the love of Music and Music education in our area.
The band is mainly made up of adults ranging in age form the early 20’s to the early 70’s. There are also some middle school and high school students participating.
Holden said, ” we even have a music student from UTM and two music students from Bethel University playing with us. We also have people who live in Benton , Carroll and Calloway Counties participating.”
“I encourage everyone to attend. This is an outstanding and talented group.”
” We are always looking for new members with band experience. After this concert, we will break until April 18th and resume rehearsals for a June Spring Concert. All you former Grove and HCHS band members need to join. I have several former students out there that need to be in this band. You Will have fun and enjoy the camaraderie.” “It isn’t a huge time committment as each “semester” has only 8 evening rehearsals before each concert with months off in between.”
The PHCCMS will be accepting tax deductible donations at the concert.
