Cottage Grove, Tenn.–The Black History Program & Soul Food Feast will be held at Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 395 Cedar St., Cottage Grove, Tn. on Saturday Feb. 10, 2024 at 2 p.m. The special guest speaker will be Jah’Karious Conley of Jackson, TN and who is a student at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga.

Hailing from the vibrant city of Jackson, Tennessee, Minister Jah’Karious Nkosi Conley embodies an unwavering commitment to his faith. He proudly stands as the son of Ms. Moranda Yancy and Mr. Jameel Conley, a testament to his roots and upbringing. Minister Conley’s journey in ministry ignited at a young age within the welcoming walls of Community COGIC in Maury City, TN, under the
guidance of Pastor Ewell Jelks Jr. Remarkably, at just 7 years old, he delivered his inaugural sermon, marking the inception of his lifelong dedication. Educated in both the Bells Public School System and Madison County School
District, Minister Conley emerged as an honors graduate from Madison Academic Magnet High School in Jackson, TN, class of 2021.
Presently, Minister Conley is an esteemed student at the renowned Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, pursuing a dual major in Religion and Psychology. His leadership shines brightly as he takes on roles such as Vice President of the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel Assistants Program, and President of the Enduring Truth Book Club. Furthering his influence, Minister Conley serves as President of the National Pre-Alumni Council and contributes as Associate Youth Pastor at Kelly Lake COGIC in Decatur, GA, under the esteemed leadership of Bishop Norman Harper. In a defining moment, he served as the pastoral intern and deputy director of the Beacon Center at Metropolitan United Methodist Church in Montgomery, AL, during the past summer. In this role, he learned how to “live life with the people,” contributing to the overall spiritual, mental and wholistic health of Lowndes, Montgomery and Macon County residents.
Minister Conley’s pursuit of enlightenment is evident through his commitment to continuous learning and growth. Through the Enduring Truth Book Club, he shares illuminating insights, aiming to be at the forefront of spiritual understanding. Looking to the future, Minister Conley harbors a profound aspiration to attain his MDiv and MA in Counseling, leveraging his passion to address the issues faced by marginalized communities and the complex relationship with clinicians. His mission is to ensure individuals of color receive the necessary support to thrive in every aspect of life, fostering prosperity and well-being.
