Calling all Friends of a Feather to Flock together!

One of the more exciting nights of the year is coming up soon! The Annual Friends Member Wood Duck Banding will be Friday, July 26th at 6:30 pm at our Duck River Bottoms area of the refuge located at 550 Refuge Lane in New Johnsonville, TN. No need to RSVP, however, this is considered a Friends membership drive activity, so being a Friends member is part of the night. Luckily, it is cheap and easy for anyone to become a Friends member and they can do that at the event itself (using cash or check please). This evening is fun for all ages and a really unique outing for the whole family! This activity is outside and can be hot, so bring some water with you (although we will have some on hand too). Also, you might not want to wear your fanciest of clothes and wearing closed toed shoes is a good idea. The number of caught wood ducks is always a wild card for this event, but having several hundred in an evening is not unusual. You can choose to be as interactive as you want with the banding process.
