Mayfield, Ky.—An inmate who escaped from the Fulton County Jail in June was taken into custody Wednesday in Cincinnati.
Reggie Rankins now also faces charges in Ohio and will then be extradited back to Kentucky to face charges related to his escape from Fulton Co. He currently is incarcerated in the Hamilton County Jail in Ohio.
Rankins escaped June 10. Fulton County Jail officials said he was present at the last scheduled head count at 9 p.m. that night. At 1 a.m. the next morning, Fulton County dispatch was advised that a gas station down the street had been broken into. An emergency head count was performed at 1:30 a.m. and Rankins was not present.
Rankins was serving time in the Fulton County Jail for burglary and theft.
