Cottage Grove is the smallest incorporated city in the state of Tennessee, with a population in the 80s currently. The original two-story Cottage Grove School was burned in 1938 and the current building was built in 1938. In 2004, the public school was closed due to consolidation. Later that year, however, the school reopened as a private Christian academy. In 2016, the name of the school was officially changed to Cottage Grove Christian School. The Christian School moved to Paris a few years ago and the building has been empty since then.
