Murray, Ky.—A large crowd was on hand for Tuesday night’s lecture by renowned author Bobbie Ann Mason at Murray State University. A native of Mayfield, Mason is the author of “Shiloh and Other Stories”, “In Country” and “Clear Springs”. Hosted by the History Department at Murray State, her lecture was on “Making Fiction Out Of History” and she spoke about her inspirations for her writing. She said the language of west Kentucky was like poetry to her and “language is how I get into peoples’ stories.” (Shannon McFarlin photo).
