Paris, Tenn.–At a short and sweet meeting of the Paris Municipal Regional Planning Commission, a minor site plan to allow construction of an ice selling structure on W. Wood Street and allow revision to the Phillip Brown building under construction on Volunteer Drive.
The meeting was broadcast on Facebook Live. To conform with social distancing guidelines, members were spaced apart from each other and the number of people allowed in the meeting room were limited.
At a quick Paris Board of Zoning Appeals meeting, a variance for Thomas Edwards doing business as Twice The Ice at 1213A West Wood St. was approved. That approval led to the approval by the planning commission of the site plan for the new structure, to be located near the new the Commercial Bank ATM machine for which a variance was granted in November, 2019.
The proposed location of the building will be 32.8 ft. from the front property line and the rear of the
structure will be 9 ft. from the setback line.
In other business, the commission approved the site plan for the Phillip Brown Building at the intersection of Volunteer and Maurice Fields Drives. The revised site plan was submitted by L.I. Smith Engineering. Originally the drainage feature shown on the site plan called for rip rap. Mr. Brown has requested a revision to install an underground drainage pipe.
The revision was approved contingent on Site Specification Review approval.
