Union City, Tenn.–Upon the recommendation of the Center for Disease Control, the American Library Association and to do its part to keep our community and staff safe, Obion County Public Library has announced it will cancel all programming and close the building to the public from March 21st until March 31st.
Library officials said, “This is not an easy decision. We care deeply about our community and every library staff member is proud to say we’ve stayed open to the public during other emergencies. The best way we can serve you now is to help prevent COVID-19 from entering Obion County, especially as our patrons include many seniors and others at high risk.
Officials said they understand the library is an essential resource for many, so they are taking steps to support the public during this temporary closure:
“We will start our Curbside Delivery services on Monday, March 23rd from 9:30-1:30
–No late fees will be generated on patron accounts
–All due dates will be extended automatically
–The building will be sanitized before reopening
–Our exterior 24 hour wi-fi is always open access and reaches all corners of our parking lot
–Our audiobooks, magazines and ebooks are always available at www.oclibrary.org through our website
You may access printing through emailing your document to prints@oclibrary.org and can call to have us bring it out to you.”
