
Union City, Tenn.–At Tuesday night’s Union City Council meeting, the panel approved a site construction grant totaling $539,923 that will be used to build a bridge in the industrial park.
Mayor Terry Hailey said construction will be performed by Harold Coffey Construction and the city’s match is $65,000.
In other business:
–Council approved a new job description of Turf Management Supervisor. Long-time supervisor Robin Francis is leaving that position and will be the new Director of Parks and Cemeteries when Ken Morris retires in a few months.
–Council also approved a resolution to submit an application to the Tennessee Housing Development Agency in the amount of $500,000 for a HOME grant program. The money would be used to rehab and/or build new homes for residents meeting the guidelines.
