McKenzie, Tenn.—Crews from McKenzie Fire and Rescue had to use 14,000 gallons of water and a backhoe to extinguish an illegal tire dump on fire Friday morning.
The department was called to 3125 Hilliard Road, where Captain Tim Marr reported they found the illegal tire dump on fire. Plumes of black smoke could be seen for miles.
Time of the call was around 11 a.m. and the McKenzie Fire and Rescue utilized one engine and one tanker, while the Carroll County Fire Department also assisted with a tanker to extinguish the blaze.
