Mayfield, Ky.—A Mayfield mother was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment after her three-year-old child was found walking in the middle of a Mayfield street with no shoes or winter clothing.
Tabitha Marie Mills was taken to the Graves County Jail.
According to the Mayfield Police, the child was found by a citizen walking in the middle of Pryor Street with no shoes and no winter clothing in 19-degree weather on Friday.
The citizen called police while he tried to keep the small child warm.
According to the press release, it was found through investigation by social workers and police officers, that the small child was left at home alone. It was also determined that the child left the residence to try to find the mother.
The child was checked by Mayfield Fire Department EMS and released. The child was temporarily released to family by the Social Services agency.
