Dresden, Tenn.—Three people were arrested on drug charges in Dresden and a fourth will be charged after she is released from the hospital after she reportedly ate a bag of meth during the arrest.
Three children also were found in the home and two of the people were charged with aggravated child abuse and neglect.
Weakley Co. Sheriff’s Captain Randall McGowan said deputies went to a residence at 488 Taylor St. with an arrest warrant for Wesley Hatchel, age 40, on a parole violation charge. He was found in the house with a baggie of meth, which he said was his.
McGowan said Deputy James Sanders obtained a search warrant for the same house to look for more meth and returned the next day. At that time three people were in the house smoking meth. A search produced more meth, scales, hypodermic needles and items used to make meth, McGowan said.
Hatchel was charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. Brandy McClure, age 38, of Dresden, was charged with possession of meth, promotion of meth manufacture, and aggravated child abuse and neglect. Robert McGraw, age 33, of Martin, was charged with simple possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and aggravated child abuse and neglect.
Jennifer Deanne Oliver, age 33, of Dresden, reportedly ate a bag of meth as officers were entering the house. McGowan said she was taken by ambulance to Volunteer Hospital in Martin and will face charges at a later date.
