Mayfield, Ky.—A Mayfield teen was arrested on a lengthy list of charges after a wild chase in which the suspect ran several other cars off the road, attempted to hit deputies’ vehicles and drove through a yard.
Arrested was Max Davis, age 19. He is charged with fleeing and evading, two counts wanton endangerment involving law enforcement vehicles, ten counts of wanton endangerment involving the private vehicles, reckless driving, speeding, disregarding stop sign, failure to signal, improper passing and criminal mischief.
Chief Deputy Davant Ramage is asking for anyone who was forced off of the road by Davis to contact Deputy Jerry Gore at the Sheriff’s Office by calling 270-247-4501.
The episode began around 3:40 p.m. Wednesday when deputies attempted to stop a white Honda passenger car for a speeding violation on State Route 121 North, just north of Mayfield.
According to the press release, Davis disregarded the deputy’s emergency lights and sirens to stop and continued at a high rate of speed. Davis turned onto I-69 and proceeded northbound toward Marshall County.
Davis abruptly exited the Parkway onto State Route 131 and disregarded the stop sign, which almost caused a collision at the intersection. Davis then traveled south towards the intersection of State Route 131 and State Route 58 East, where, he skidded through the parking lot of West Mart gas station, before circling back to State Route 131. While heading north on State Route 131, Davis ran several vehicles off the road and attempted to cause a collision with deputies.
Area law enforcement agencies were notified of the developing situation. In a final attempt to evade deputies, Davis pulled into a driveway on State Route 131, traveled through the yard of a residence and became stuck in a ditch. Davis was taken into custody at that time and he was lodged in the Graves County Jail.
