WENK/WTPR Opens New Station In Downtown Paris

Paris, Tenn.–WENK/WTPR has moved its Paris station to Poplar Street in the heart of downtown Paris.
The station has moved to 216 Poplar Street and it soon will house new studios. The office is still being remodeled and an open house and ribbon-cutting will be held to welcome the public to the station’s new digs as soon as the work is complete.
While the remodeling is ongoing, the public can drop off their news items, flyers and items for Swap Shop in the mail slot at the new office at 216 Poplar St. Until the phone lines at the new Paris office are reconnected, the public can call 1-731-885-1240 (extension 115).
Once the phone line is fully reconnected, the Paris studio phone number will remain the same at 731-642-7100. The fax line is still 731-644-9367.
The public also can email us at: office@wenkwtpr.com. We can also be contacted through our Facebook pages at WENK/WTPR and KF99/KQ105.
Our new station can be found in the historic building which currently has the Emerson Shoe Store sign hanging in front. New signage will be placed on the building front shortly.
The building formerly was home to several businesses over the years, including Hunter’s Camera Shop, followed by Val Umbach’s Camera Shop.
For the past several years, the WENK/WTPR Paris office and station has been located on Brewer Street in Paris.
Forever Communications, Inc. President/COO  Christine Hillard said the station is excited with the move. “We have a lot of wonderful plans that will take shape in early 2019 and look forward to a much increased presence and commitment to Paris and all of Henry Co!”
Hillard said WENK/WTPR also is very happy to be moving closer to downtown Paris, only a block away from the court square.
WTPR is the oldest radio station in Henry County, having started broadcasting in 1947. WTPR got its start on the second floor of the former Luckey’s Hardware Co. building at the corner of Wood and Market Streets.
WENK began in Union City in 1946 and the two stations merged some years ago. The stations are now owned by Forever Communications, a privately owned corporation with four radio stations in Bowling Green, KY, three radio stations in  Murray, KY, and five radio stations in the greater Jackson, TN. area.
Forever Communications also owns and operates the KF99/KQ105 stations.
