McKenzie, Tenn.–A two-story frame house at 1060 Stonewall St. in McKenzie was destroyed by an early-morning fire, the second house fire in less than 24 hours in McKenzie.
McKenzie Fire & Rescue was called out at 1:08 a.m. early Christmas Eve and the first unit found heavy fire already coming through the roof. All family members were safely out of the house.
Mutual aid was provided by Gleason Fire Department and the Macedonia Fire Department, which is a brigade out of the Carroll County Fire Department.
The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
The first fire occurred early Monday morning at 218 Paris Pike. The two-story 100-year-old house was a total loss. All family members were out of the home when firefighters arrived. A fire department spokesman said the fire originated on the top floor.
